Is there a hive or a rule on the registry that permits to find the
software who are removed ?
It depends on how efficient the former programs "Uninstall" was. A
really good program uninstaller will remove all traces of itself from
the registry. Many programs, however, leave behind hundreds of registry
entries (they usually aren't hurting anything). If you are looking for
a specific program to see if it was once on the computer, click on the
Edit menu in Regedit, then click on "Find". Type in the name of the
program. If it turns up references, that specific program was on the
computer at some time or another. If it turns up no references, it may
or may not have been on that computer. Don't know if that's exactly the
info you were looking for but for what it's worth . . .
