As Gordon explained, there is *no* requirement to register.
You normally have to *activate*, but if Windows came preinstalled, it
probably also came pre-activated. At any rate if you've had it for more than
30 days, it's already activated; it it weren't, it wouldn't work except in
Safe Mode.
Your problem is not that that it's not registered and it's not that it's nor
activated.
