Registration is optional, and doesn't mean or give you anything. Activation
now, is mandatory. Which do you mean?

When the user logs to Microsoft website and tries to get update he is told
that the OS can't be verified and he should contact the reseller (which has
no information)

The Windows is EOM and came pre installed

All I can think is that when I first run the system I skipped registration

Any suggestions?

Thank you,
Samuel

As Gordon explained, there is *no* requirement to register.

You normally have to *activate*, but if Windows came preinstalled, it
probably also came pre-activated. At any rate if you've had it for more than
30 days, it's already activated; it it weren't, it wouldn't work except in
Safe Mode.

Your problem is not that that it's not registered and it's not that it's nor
activated.

So what is the problem?
