Windows Product Keycode

On a few occasions I have had to re-install windows home premium using the
upgrade disk that came with my computer. Every time I reinstalled windows, I
will get a message telling me that the keycode I am using, or that I entered
is not valid although I have the oem sticker on the bottom of the laptop
computer that came with it. Can we find a way to resolve this issue because
it is getting to be bothersome.

The computer is a HP/Compaq Presario, and it was a anytime upgrade disk that
i used, but still, why does microsoft keep telling me the keycode is no good
when i have the original keycode sticker on my computer as it was when I
bought it?

Because the keycode on your sticker is not the proper key for an upgrade
disk (as you indicate you are using for your re-install). The sticker on
your case is for an OEM fresh install.

he thinks he can have ultimate for the basic oem key on the bottom and it
doesn't work that way. You need to purchase an upgrade key.
