I don't know why, but my prefetch folder is always empty and no longer
prefetching. I may have accidentally deleted a registry key with Regseeker
and now all my programs startup slower and especially windows startup. I
tried the suggestions under my google search sites and they all say to open
run and enter some long hkey entry and when I do it says that it can't be
found. Is there maybe a small .dll or something I can download and reinstall
or what else can I do? I really want it up nd running again. Please give me
suggestions. I am using a powerful presario laptop with XP pro btw and
normally don't have issues. Also my computer is very clean with no viruses or
spyware etc...
please help
thanks

two easy things maybe

SFC /scanonce

%windir%\system32\cmd.exe /k "Rundll32.exe advapi32.dll,ProcessIdleTasks"

thank you bumtracks i will try this

Hey again bumtracks
Well I tried both of your suggestions and neither one helped. I still have
an inactive prefetch folder. It just doesn't want to work, but it would be a
shame to have to re-install just for this problem. It would take me days to
install all programs, music, settings etc. Any other suggestions? Please let
me know.
thanx in advace
