When doing a broad search for a photo I discovered what must be hundreds of
Windows installed graphics, logos, photos etc. that I would like to delete -
it's all garbage taking up space. Are they there for a functional reason ?
If not how can I remove them en mass rather than piecemeal. Thanks for the
help.

I recommend not removing any graphics installed by Windows. They are used
in portions of Windows that you may not access very often, but when you do
they will be needed. Example: Click on Help and Support and on the left
side of the Window that opens you will see 4 pictures as well as the icons
at the top of the page. These are all part of the Windows OS. Don't really
know what effect if any it would have on the operation of the OS if the
pictures are not accessible.
Just my half a cent of input.

Thanks for your suggestion - my default option. Check your 'Windows picture
and fax viewer' to see what I mean. There is so much unrelated junk - some
in other languages that I just do not see why I need it. However, it has
been there all this time....
