Help...I set a password on my Win XP Home Edition
computer for the administrator and I can't remember it,
even my hint doesn't help jog my memory. Is there some
way, short of re-installing WinXP to get it reset or
erased?

If that doesn't work out, you might try to reset the local Administrator
password with one of the methods mentioned here:

press start goto control panel choose user accounts from there you should be able to pick anew password if you follow the instruction

boot up in Safe Mode.

go to start, settings, control panel, user accounts and
change password.
