Windows OneCare reaking havok

For one i always found it annoying that windows OneCare constantly requests
backing up, but this is a larger issue.

I cant uninstall the program, an error '0x2' occurs, whcih is not mentioned
in any troubleshooting and i cant get technical support (even by e-mail for
some unknown reason) because i live in Australia. It also causes the Firewall
not to work - i have consulted troubleshooting and am able to turn the
firewall on, but as soon as OneCare starts the firewall turns off. Also,
whenever i open OneCare it freezes and i have to Ctrl+Alt+Delete and end
program, and it freezes Add/Removed programs when it fails to uninstall.
And just recently ive been having a problem with reading disks (possilby
unrelated), but a program that required a disk is initiated with the disk in,
and it says there is no disk, and just now trying to install a program from a
new disk it says Setup encountered an error.

Please help, this is getting far beyond the point of an annoyance.

Try to uninstall OneCare. I tried it about a year ago and it caused fatal
errors all over. I uninstalled it and no more problems.

Let this be a lesson for you my boy. MickeyMouse makes crappy software.

Cheers.

When you have no help to provide why do you even bother making a reply?

Many times, a uninstall can be done in Safe Mode. Once uninstalled, do
not reinstall OC, there are many better products to protect the machine.

I think it is very helpful to point out just how crappy MickeyMouse's
software is. This will help others avoid installing such crap in the first
place.

Of course there are better products. Your statement confirms what I've just
said. So your point is what again Windoze Fanboy?

Cheers.
