I don't think I want my hardware to be "pretty". As a matter of fact, I know
I don't want it to be "pretty".

And I don't think I want my wallet to be "empty". As a matter of fact,
I know I don't want it to be "empty".

I have two legitimate copies of XP, Home for Home and Pro for the Office but
both are upgrade versions. I recently purchased a Macmini and would like to
Dual Boot. I would probably get rid of one of my older machines. Does anyone
know how to accomplish this without having to purchase one more copy when I
will still have only two cpus and two XPs.

If I understand you correctly, you want to move a copy of WIndows XP from
one machine to another.

Since yours is an Upgrade version, it's a retail copy, and retail copies can
be moved from one computer to another without a problem. Sinply remove it
from the old machine (normally by formating the drive) and then install it
on the new one. Since you're doing a clean installation with an Upgrade
version, you'll need to provide the CD of a previous qualifying version;
just insert the CD of whatever older version of Windows you have (95, 98,
98SE or Me) when prompted to do so.

You'll of course have to activate your new installation but that's no
problem. If it's been over 180 days, activation should work over the
internet just as it did the first time. If under 180 days, you'll be
prompted to make a quick easy voice call.
