I have been using computers for many, many years and I
have always (since Windows came about anyway) wanted to
know what controls the sequencing of your startup programs
that you want started when windows final "wakes" up? I.E.
is it your AV program first or say a firewall second, CD
third, perhaps some MS program like Outlook forth. Can the
sequencing be changed?
Thanks!

Pre Xp - The startup programs wre started in the order of the dolder
(directy palcement.

Xp - Alphabeticlly by Icon Name. Reane the Icon to AAA-p3, BBB-p2, CCC-p1
and then the start up oder would be p3,p2,p1.

This does not count the system type startup programs like NAV, DVD, Sound,
Video tools. BUt you could dig them out od the registery and put them in the
Startup folder as DDD-S, EEE-V.
