Windows - No Disk (error message)

Can anyone tell me how to fix this problem????

Upon startup my desktop opens normally and then I get an error message that
is titled "Windows - No Disk" "There is no disk in the drive. Please insert
a disk into drive".
It has a red dot with a white X to the left of the "There is ......"
sentence. My options are Cancel, Try Again and Continue. None of there
three options clear the message. To get rid of it I have to restart the
computer. It does not stop me from continuing to use the computer. I can
ignore it so leaving it on the desktop is a nuisance, not something affecting
the operation of the computer.

The error message does not appear every time I startup, just sometimes.

I am running XP Home.

This problem started a month or so ago and the computer is 14 months old.

Thanks

Sounds like the drive sometimes goes offline which is not an encouraging
event. You should check all of the cables to make certain that they are
fully seated at all sockets. If the cabling is OK, then it is time to
backup all of your data. You might need a new disk drive soon.
