Windows / MS-DOS application

I have a P4 with Windows XP home edition and when I tried to install new
software I have it the following message:

16 bit Windows Subsystem

C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\AUTOEXEC.NT. The system file is not suitable for running
MS-DOS and Microsoft Windows applications. Choose ‘Close†to terminate the
application

Can some one help me? Please wrote me to (e-mail address removed), Thank’s
