Windows MovieMaker Problem

I have almost completed a project which consists of Holiday Video clips and
am in the process of adding music. I downloaded and dragged two piecesof
music to the timeline successfully but when opening the project today I am
finding that the message 'MovieMaker has encountered a problem and has to
close down' comes up within seconds of the project appearing in the window.
Can anyone help please?

downloaded some music sounds like mp3.
Also it may be corrupt.
Change/convert the mp3 to wav and all should be good.

Thanks for the reply but I don't think this is the problem. I have used mp3's
in the past without trouble
Anyway the 2 I have already dragged to the timeline are OK
But the prog closes before I can do anything else

I am having the exact same problem, since day one! adding vid clips, music
tracks etc onto the timeline i get the ever familar message "windows movie
maker has encountered a problem and needs to close" it is very frustrating,
and i am seriously considering getting some 3rd party editing software.
