Windows Movie Maker help plse???

"Windows Movie Maker has encountered a problem and
needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience."

I get this message every time I open it.

If I do not close that popup window, I am able to continue to use the prgm.
Once I send error report, the prgm closes.

How can I uninstall it and re-install????? (without re-installing Windows)

Movie maker 2.1 is installed as a component
of WinXP SP2...there is no way to uninstall it
as a separate program. If a reinstall ifs required...

And...you can download a copy of WinXP
SP2 from the following site:

Generally, users install from the net but this
site allows you to download the complete
file to your hard drive before installing.

It's good for a network administrator because
you can burn it on a CD and install it on as
many computers as you need to.

And it's good for a single machine because
if you ever need to install it again...you'll have
it available without waiting for a download.

For future info on Moviemaker in (Vista)

MovieMaker depends very much on AERO, without a good DX9 Vista capable
graphics card you cannot even start Moviemaker. If it starts, ( or tries
to ) then you likely have Aero capable card built in.

Check out your videodrivers ( Ati/Nvidia/Intel ) , I never saw this error on
rtm versions.

here as well to see if anyone else had any helpful suggestions.

I just upgraded my laptop from XP Media Center edition to Vista Home
Premium
and when I try to start Movie Maker I get a General Access Denied error.
I
have tried to find a way to uninstall it (so that I could then re-install
it), but I guess that is not an option in Vista. Does anyone know how I
can
get around this error message? Is there a way to re-install the
individual
programs in Vista?
