Windows Mobile Device Failed

My Qtek WM5 smartphone just comes up 'Device Driver was not Successfully
Installed. Windows Mobile Device Failed' when it tries to load the driver.
As a result, Vista wont recognise attached device so I cant use sync center
or WMDC. In device manager I get the device with the exclaimation mark. In
device mgr properties I get This Device Cannot Start (CODE10). I've tried
update, disable, uninstall etc but still nothing. Everything was working ok
earlier in the day until I tried to install ActiveSync 4.2 (I now know I dont
need to and cant do this but the Vista Sync wasn't working properly so I
thought I'd try! - but at least it recognised and installed the phone ok)
Since then it just wont install the phone - I just get this 'Windows Mobile
Device Failed' all the time.
The WM5 phone still works fine on my other XP computers. I have reinstalled
vista (upgrade) but it still the same problem.

Just to be clear, it is Vista that comes up 'Device Driver .......' not the
phone (sorry if not clear the 1st time!)

Dear Bill,

Microsoft Windows Mobile Device Center Beta 3 for Windows Vista (x86) does
not synchronize contacts and appointments between a Pocket PC and MS Outlook
2003. Is that by design? Will Microsoft produce software which does that
synchronization?

I have Windows Vista RC1, Build 5600. How can I get a later build, if
available?

Thanks very much!
