windows messenger

Okay, am I right to assume that windows messenger in
windows xp is the upgrade of netmeeting?

Greetings,

Not really -- Netmeeting is still there (click Start, then Run, enter "conf" and click OK),
and Messenger can't really be used for direct to IP calls or H.323 compatible calls like
Netmeeting can.
