You can always use the Group Policy snapin for the MMC to disable it from
even running, or if you wish to uninstall it then follow these steps:

Start -- Run -- C:\Windows\Inf\sysoc.inf
<ctrl>+<h> -- type in "hide" (no quotes) and tell it to replace all.

Exit, then go to Add Remove Programs -- Windows Components. Find Messenger,
uninstall it.

Simple. Google helps a lot in this situation.
