Windows messenger

Please help. Everytime I open outlook express, windows
messenger opens up and people on my contact list start
sending me IM'S. I have disabled everything in the
options in outlook express regarding messenger.

Under OE, try going to TOOLS/OPTIONS/GENERAL and uncheck the box that says
'Automatically log on to Windows Messenger'

To delete Messenger, try this from Johathan Kay:
Close down Messenger (right click the messenger icon in the notification
area/system tray and click close). Then click the start button, then
click Run and type in (copy-paste if you like):
RunDll32 advpack.dll,LaunchINFSection %windir%\INF\msmsgs.inf,BLC.Remove

Then click OK. Messenger will then be uninstalled. For more detailed

In OE also go to View - Layout and uncheck 'Contacts'. OE uses the same
contacts list and launches Messenger to handle it
