Open Control Panel, Add/Remove Programs, click "Add/Remove Windows
Components" in the left column, deselect Windows Messenger, click OK.

If you never use Windows Messenger, the best thing to do is to uninstall it.
In the Add or Remove Programs control panel, click Add/Remove Windows
Components button on the left, and uncheck Windows Messenger.
