Windows Messenger GUI problem ?

V

Vilius

Hi,
I have Windows Messenger 5.1 installed.
I can switch to Messenger window two ways:
using notification area or taskbar button.
If I press "x " messenger exits or minimizes to notification area
it depends on "allow run in background" setting (there is no taskbar button)
Sometimes I need taskbar button so I use "_". I noticed some strange
behavior on how messenger restores it's window - if I press right button on
messengers taskbar button and choose restore from system menu - everything
is ok.
But if I click left mouse button for restore operation(it's preferred way) -
taskbar button changes to pressed state but I see no messenger window - and
after that when I press left mouse button anywhere on the screen again -
only then system displays messenger window and focuses it. If I want to
restore messenger I should press left mouse button twice.
It really annoys me much.

thanks
vilius

Hi,

That's a really poor solution in this case as Windows Live Messenger and MSN Messenger don't
even have the feature in question.

That's like -- your arm hurts, so upgrade to a new body without an arm.
