Windows Messenger and Address Book

How in the world can I make Windows Messenger stop changing things around in
my address book? I use Windows Messenger, and whenever I put a contact.. it
adds them to my address book in OE as well! Is there a way to separate
Windows Messenger from the Windows Address Book? Thanks.
