Try reinstalling WMP.

Your copy of WMP may be corrupt. Download a copy of WMP10 below,
and install it overtop of your current version, it designed that way. Do
not install or update to WMP11, too many problems encountered at present.

I suggest you also look through the posts in and if needed post to one of
the windows media player newsgroups.
