Youre problem(s) deal with having more than 1 player installed,at some
point more than 1 is trying to open & play.Uninstalling the 2 3rd party
players
would help,and/or install xp cd,other options,add/remove windows components,
chk WMP box. Also,in WMP,open tools, options, edit "file types tab".....

First of all, disregard anything Andrew E. says.

You need to provide more information, sweetpea. What version of WMP are
you using? What is the *exact* error code you are receiving? Which
browser are you using, and what version is it? What are using WMP to
play? DVDs? CDs? Streaming media from the Web? Can you provide the url
of a Web site that's giving you problems?

Still need more info.

Provide us with *all* the error messages. Regarding C00D11B0, this
indicates that the server is just busy (assuming you have enough
resources). So just go to the site some other time, or try another
source for this video.

Provide the full text of the error messages. You mentioned "check
firewall." What is the context?

Also, use Event Viewer and post back findings (if necessary). For
instructions, see:
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/308427

What file format is this video? You may want to try playing it in one of
your other players. Right-click on the file, select "Open with" and
experiment.

In case your PC is set to hide file extensions, change it to show them
so you can tell what file format you're dealing with:

Open any folder.
Tools | Folder Options | View Tab
Scroll down to the entry that says "Hide file extensions for known file
types" and make certain it's not checked.
Click on the Apply To All Folders button and then close the window.

See:
http://filext.com/faq/file_extension_information.php

You said "finished downloading." What site are you downloading from? Or
are you streaming, perhaps?

Finally, you may have better luck posting to:
microsoft.public.windowsmedia.player

Jerry

First you may want to try divx for more codec for media player. For my 2
cents putting real player on any pc is a mistake. It seems to want rule the
world.

of lost... yeepee... wouldn't let me play anything on realplayer shall I get
rid of? Also...........I have another problem!!!!!!!!!! I went to list some
items on ebay this am and my computer won't let me upload the picture onto my
