Windows Media Player problem

I am running Windows Media Player 9 on Windows XP. For
the last one week whenever I open the player, it
automatically closes itself. I have tried reinstalling
WMP 9 and restoring the system but nothing has corrected
the problem.

Pls help.

first run:
RunDll32 advpack.dll,LaunchINFSection C:\WINNT\INF\wmp.inf,Uninstall

then run:
rundll32.exe setupapi,InstallHinfSection InstallWMP64 132 c:\windows\inf
\mplayer2.inf
(Point it to the Windows XP CD)
rundll32.exe setupapi,InstallHinfSection InstallWMP7 132 c:\windows\inf
\wmp.inf
(Point it to the Windows XP CD)
