Jim

I'm running WindowsXP.

Yesterday my Windows Media player started launching
automatically every times Windows Starts. I have been
told not to use the MSCONFIG to "uncheck" the startup
item. plus if I do I get that dialog about "You have used
a custom startup...." all the time. How can I get it to
stop?

I've tried "System Retore" but no restore points beyond
today exist. (kind of piculiar) CAN I REMOVE THE MEDIA
PLAYER PROGRAM?

Help (kind of pissd at Microsoft right now..LOL)

Sorry can't help but could you tell me what LOL stands for. It's probably
something simple but I just can't get my head round it .
Thanks.

you can use msconfig, the next time you start windows the box will pop up,
but check the box for do not show again and it should be gone.
