I realize that this question relates to a problem with
the norton firewall, but I cannot get any help over at
the Symantec site. I cannot play video with the Windows
Media player while my firewall is running. This may have
begun after I upgraded to version 9 of the media player.
I have tried to configure the player to work with the
firewall, and it does appear that I have successfully
configured the media player to work with the firewall.
The media player exe file is configured to work
automatically. When I turn off the firewall, the video
works, so I'm sure that the problem is in the norton
product. Any help is appreciated.

Please have a look at:

Those are Microsoft settings. Firewall has to let video stream to flow in.
You should see for yourself by looking at firewall logs at what ports your
video stream is trying to get in. Since you can't watch, your firewall must
be blocking video stream and recording info about blocked ip frames in its
logs.
