Windows Media Player 9

I've got Windows XP Pro with WMP9 installed. I cannot get
the streaming video frpm msnbc.com or from ctv.ca to
work. A new IE screen pops up and it stops there. On
msnbc, it asks for speed. I click on the high speed
button (I have DSL) and nothing happens. Its not hung.
Same with the streams from CTV.CA . The new screen pops
up with the minmode mediaplayer controls but pressing on
the "play" button doesn't produce anything. I've done
everything including reinstalling the WM9 codecs without
any results. Funny thing is - I have another PC with XP
on my home LAN. And there it works. Also I have a
portable with Internet Connection Sharing connected to
this PC - and it works on the portable. Anything else to
do other than reformatting the whole bloody hard drive?

Hi Bert,
WMP9 is a whole lot of trouble, since it was introduced as a
trial but was really a public release Beta. Your query may be
beyond the depth of the group.
You may try these for additional help:
(Assuming using OE for posting) -

Full list MS News, here: http://aumha.org/nntp.htm

Hope this helps and regards from Montreal.
