Windows Media Play 11 Beta caused a major situation...THIS ISN'T A

I bet MS never realized one thing when they allowed people using Windows XP
to get Windows Media Player 11 Beta...that if they uninstalled it it would
screw up their whole computer. Rolling it back doesn't actually work. I've
tried it, and now I have no working WM Players on my computer. Because There
are no WM Player's on here and Windows XP doesn't allow you to uninstall it,
even though WMP 11 Beta does just that, you cannot use the WMP 9, 10, or even
11 Beta to fix it by reinstalling. I followed MS's instructions on their site
for uninstalling it so I could reinstall it to fix an error...well that was a
mistake, now my whole computer is screwed up...IE7 Beta 2 won't let me use
certain types of links or sign in on the PassPort NetWork so I'm forced to
use the original Mozilla web browser because it is the only one on here that
works...even worse, my explorer.exe process freezes up and it and some other
processes won't end when I log off and I cannot stop them using task manager.
And thanks to Dell I don't have a Windows XP disc to use to repair the OS
with, and things just keep getting worse...
About 80% of the time that I try to turn off my computer it gets stuck at
"Shutting Down" and I will come back 5 or 6 hours later and find it still
there...Other problems I have include the computer freezing everything but
the mouse when I try to rename a folder or name one I just made, The computer
won't let me play any games that require the use of an external disc, even
ones that are and aren't installed on here, I can't burn any CD's, WMP is all
screwed up as mentioned above and now I get an "internal error" message, my
internet is slow, and programs that require scripts are either just showing a
blank white window, or they are pretending that that part of them doesn't
exist...I know for sure I have no viruses, spyware, etc. on my computer
because I have way more than enough protection for that and they are all
properly configured. Also, my computer is completely up-to-date, and I mean
beyond Windows/Microsoft Update...
I've checked everything with the device manager and there are no issues
either.
My computer is a custom-rebuilt X-Ventilator with a Dell Dimension 3000
motherboard and 320W? Power Supply, a Socket 478 Intel Pentium 4 CPU running
at 2.8 GHz, 1 52x CD Burner, some other accessories, and a completely full
Samsung 80 GB HDD. I'm using Windows XP Home Edition with SP2. If someone
could help me with this, since obviously no one has mentioned it to MS, then
that would be awesome.

Thanks again,
Jack Schappell

By the way, this is a new thread, not a question. The reason it says it's a
question is because this problem I'm having won't even let me start a new
thread...

One word...

....OK, two words...

More than a few words: It was on the front page of their site in bright and
dark shiny colors...I had it backed up through system restore but this issue
has caused that to get messed up too so I can't use that to restore it back
to before it happened...

Uhm.. If System Restore was meant to be a backup, it would have been called
System BACKUP!

I see you know your MS prayer by heart!

You are like a doggy on a MS leash.....

ruff ruff.... this bone looks like beta.. Ill eat it...
Yum, yum.... arf? This inflated bloatbone is like a virus.. cant get rid of
it!
Oh no... im dying, I knew I shouldnt have eaten that beta bone...
Whats a beta bone? Its connected to the alpha bone of course!
I should have backed up my body and soul... do dogs have a soul?
I should have eaten that penguin, instead of that beta bone... I knew it!

1. Do you even know what the definition of Restore is or what System Restore
could possibly be used for? Stop being a forum flamer and just help me out, I
didn't come here to get in an arguement with a noob who is in a bad mood...
2. You know, not everyone has the money for another drive to back theirs up
with...so sop assuming and start helping...

These are the help forums for Windows not Linux. If you don't like Microsoft
then leave, no one asked you to be here now stop spamming up my help thread.

I recently Downloaded Windows Media Player 11 Beta. My notbook ran slower in
using the URGE program package " unlimited 14 day free and unlimited access
downloads ", through the Windows Media Player 11 Beta.

I recieved a lot of worms and viruses through the program. Not knowing if
the viruses came through URGE All Access and then accessing all of my other
media files through WMP11.

So with the virus attacking my whole computer system eventually, within a
day, I took this new notbook to BEST BUY and had the GEEK SQUAD uninstall
everything on my laptop, and then install just my regular programs. Thank you
geek squad!

Everything on my computer is now "gone" not literally, but too messy to deal
with.

I dont know which music program to use either between WMP10,11, itunes,
apple any suggestions?
