Windows Media 9 .wma files and Powerpoint 2000

I was using Powerpoint 2000 and Windows Media Player
7.1. I could insert and play .wma files with no
problem. I upgraded to Windows Media Player 9 and now
can't insert .wma files. I have uninstalled v.9 and
returned to v.7.1 and still can't insert .wma files.

Help!!

Gary,

A couple of things, first, you can not remove all of WMP 9 without wiping
the hard and reloading Windows. The second thing is a question, where did
the WMA files originate? That is, are they something you recorded yourself
or are they CD rips?

I used Windows Media Player 9 to record the .wma from a
CD.
