I upgraded to WMP10 on my Home edition. After using it, I l realized I did
not like it. So I went system restore to try and go back to WMP9 and it
messed things up.

I found out too late I had to uninstall from the Add/Remove panel.

I tried going to Microsoft website and try downloading WP9 but couldn't. So
I tried downloading WP10 from the site and that didn't work either.

Anyway ideas of fixing this mess?

Thanks.

Did you try undoing the system restore?

I tried system restore to a couple of known good points and it said it
successfully restored but it did not work.

When I play an MP3, WMP does not appear. Instead, it asks me to designate a
program to open the file. The MP3 icons also appear without the standard WMP
icon.
