Windows ME: Worst Operating System Ever!

Ok but that is your personal opinion ...

what is not a personal opinion is what a human eye can perceive well or not.

Although perception is indeed different from person to person, there are
some basic things that have been confirmed, that form a general "rule" on
how humans perceive colors shapes and movement.

There are also optical illusions, that are due to how the brain itself
works...

So although what you are trying to say is if something is beautiful or not,
that has nothing to do with ergonomics. In my opinion ergonomics are the
basis, and then looks and eyecandy must plus that and not get in the way.

You may say ok switch to classic... but I have to repeat again, its not me
who Im thinking about.. but the person who doesn't know much about computers
for example an elderly person who doesn't have good eyesight and most
certainly not know how to change a theme.

Yeah right.. wait Vista is still young.. lol I am sure it will break all
records of worstness.. By the way.. Chris dumped Vista and went back to XP
like all respectable geeks should do!

About Windows ME: I used it on 4 computers (2 still serve as backups) and
there's nothing wrong with it! People don't realize that Windows OSes are
always evolving, so naturally ME wasn't as good as XP, but a LOT better than
Win95.

I just don't get the ME bashing. When people say it sucked, they never give
specifics.

Yes, we know your take on Vista. Keep ramming it down our throats every few
days because as we get older we tend to forget that Tiberius doesn't like
Vista. When I get old and contract Alzheimer's, your constant reminders
will help me relalize that you don't like Vista. Vista is stupid, people
who use Vista are stupid. Isn't that what you preach?

I don't remember you saying this yesterday, but I'll go look.

Now put a reminder in your Ubuntu calendar to notify us again in 3-4 days
that Vista sucks.

Uhhh...now you're starting to sound even dumber than originally thought.
Keep it up!

unfortunately ubuntu is worse than vista for the common user

Common...huh...try "average"...it goes down a whole lot easier.

Tibby, you don't seem to have grasped the concept of the all-important
utility curve...

Bleeding-edge, Mainstream, Late-adotpters... it's a bell-curve.

I would say that the OEM community jumped on the bleeding-edge too soon with
Vista. But that is NOT MS's fault.

Cease and desist until you can show some understanding of utility and open
market economics.

Otherwise, you are a plonker.

I still have ME on several systems as the only OS and have it on a few
others as dual boot.
I actually think it's OK, and personally never had any major issues with it.
But I don't visit torrent or porno sites...

Ahhh some one else who has been there and done that. 29 years here also.
Kids what can you say.

1970-2007, that would be 37 years.
Pass me a vacuum tube...and the HP Basic manual...

But at least you have learned to understand utility... and market
economics...

Actually, one of the first things I was ever taught about computers is that
they lie to you (i.e badly programmed error messages, never trust them ;-)

They still have vacuum tubes in the '70's?
I worked on equipment from TI in the early '60's and it was all
transistorized except for one lonely vt.
I though is was the last tube ever made. :-D

He was wrong about ME also, he says:

"Windows ME is the single worst operating system because:"
"It was slow"
"It constantly crashed"
"Applications refused to work"

The above are true only for people who were as clueless as Chris
appears to be. I ran ME and it wasn't any slower than Win98, it NEVER
crashed, not one single time and ALL my applications worked w/o
problems.

I have absolutely no doubt in my mind that Vista wouldn't work for him,
either. ;-)

I used a tube as my final drive for my ham radio transmitter into the late
70's.
They were tougher to find, but still available...even though by special
order.
