any thing
These should help with some such links, but not others:

<http://www.winhelponline.com/articles/236/1/Unable-to-open-PDF-attachments-from-Windows-Mail.html>

<http://www.winhelponline.com/articl...ectly-from-Windows-Mail-in-Windows-Vista.html>

<http://www.winhelponline.com/articles/232/1/Unable-to-open-DOC-attachments-from-Windows-Mail.html>

For the others, click on the paperclip near the top right corner of the
message,
record the file name, and try to save it as a file and try to open it
outside
Windows Mail. If the file name if winmail.dat, you'll probably need to
install Outlook to be able to open the file. If not, tell us the part of
the file
name that starts with the last period.

If you are using a default browser other than Internet Explorer,
contact the users forum for that browser.
To make this work properly in Internet Explorer:
Open the Default Programs applet, which you can access either from
the Start menu or via the Control Panel, then click the first item:
"Set your default programs."
After a few seconds, a list of programs comes up. Click on Internet
Explorer. If it doesn't respond with "This program has all its defaults"
then fix it by clicking on the option indicated by the first green arrow.

From http://www.fjsmjs.com/OE/nolinks.htm

Open Windows Explorer.
Go to Tools | Folder Options | File Types.
Scroll down to URL:HyperText Transfer Protocol (NOT URL:Internet Shortcut)
and select it.
Click Edit or Advanced, depending on your Windows version.
Select 'open'.
Click Edit.

"Application used to perform this action" should read:

"C:\PROGRAM FILES\INTERNET EXPLORER\iexplore.exe" -nohome
(Check the path to iexplore.exe to make sure that is correct and use the
double quotes.)

DDE should be checked and in the boxes below it you should have:

#1:
"%1",,-1,0,,,,
#2
IExplore
#3 (blank)

#4
WWW_OpenURL

URL:HyperText Transfer Protocol with Privacy should be the same.

Sometimes it is necessary to uncheck Use DDE.

This will be of no direct help to you, but Windows Mail is not the only app
getting this kind of msg from Windows. I've gotten it when opening several
differant apps, but so far, the app or program goes ahead and opens anyway.
