Windows Mail will not sync to mobile Device

I am trying to sync my mobile device to my computer in order to download my
calendar and email from the computer to the device. Everytime I try to sync
the two, I get an error message stating that "Outlook is not installed". I
was reading where Windows Mail replaced Outlook, so is there a way around
this or am I completely stuck? I want my calendar (most important) from my
computer onto my cell phone.
