Windows Mail System Tray Notifications

Troikkonen

I have rules setup for a couple of different alert emails that I get at work.
I need to save the emails but I don't want or need to know about them. The
rules I have setup check the subject line for a certain subject, if the
subject matches, it marks the message as read and moves it to a specified
folder. However, even though the message is marked as read, I still get the
little New Email chime and the new email icon pops up in my system tray. I
get hundreds of these a day and this is really annoying! I don't want to be
alerted for these types of emails. How do I turn the chime and system icon
tray off for these emails? Help!!

You can turn the sounds off, but there is no way to prevent the tray icon
from indicating a new message.
Tools, Options, on the General tab uncheck "Play sound..."
