How do I get windows mail to just copy mail from Windows Live or Hotmail
instead of stealing it?

If you are accessing it via the POP3 servers..
Tools - Accounts - youraccount - Properties - Advanced
[x] Leave a copy of messages on server
[x] remove from server after xx days
OK

If you are accessing some other way, you'll need to ex[plain in detail.

Check this link from my website:
http://www.winuser.co.uk/windows_vi..._server_when_downloading_to_windows_mail.html
You won't get any mail you have already downloaded and lost back, but all
future mail will have a copy left on the mail providers server.
