Windows Mail 6 stealing focus

I am ready to pull my hair out...
How the hell can I stop Windows Mail from completely re-setting everything
and stealing focus every time it connects for new messages????
Examples... I'll be reading a long email or post, then all of the sudden I
am back at the top of the message and have to go back to find my place.
Or... I'll be in the middle of writing a mail or post and POOF! It's gone
and the Windows Mail screen is in front.
HELP PLEASE??

Thanks for the reply, Gary, but I have a "thing" about "live" programs.
Since Windows Mail is pretty much a dead program I will be looking
elsewhere. Maybe give Opera a try.

You're very welcome.
The nice thing about Windows Live Mail is that you can make it
as 'un-live' as you want, just like Windows Mail.

Un-live? Doesn't it run from the web? I have to admit here that I haven't
even checked it out... I was just turned off by the "live" part. Maybe I
will give it a look after all. Can you point me to a good info site?

No, it does not run from the web. It is a standalone desktop
email program like Windows Mail, with a few added features,
like the ability to accommodate Hotmail accounts.
