windows mail shuts down when printing

As of today, when I try to print an email, windows mail shuts down and then
restarts. Of course I send the information when that pop up window appears.
As yet, I have not received a reponse from Microsoft. I am running Vista
Home Premium on a gateway laptop.

Go to Control Panel>Classic View [top left]>Problems Reports & Solutions,
run a check on problems.

Try a reboot and then try printing?

Ensure that you have the latest Printer drivers from their website.

Thanks for your response. I did what you suggested and that did not fix the
problem. I do have the latest drivers for the printer. In reading some of
the other posts, I did try to print from Internet Explorer and was
successful. I also turned off email scans from my anti virus program, CA
Security.

mac I have the same problem. Shared printer works fine for test print and a
web site print. It does not for Windows Mail & Adobe prints. I have a new
computer and it was working fine a couple of days ago. Cant restore!

: I figured out a solution.

I have an older Canon Laser printer that runs on an older machine running XP
Pro.

ON this older machine I downloaded a Vista printer driver from Canon. Then
I created a ADD Local Printer; pointed to this downloaded Driver and ran it.
My printer uses USB rather than LPT1. I created a name for this printer
different from the existing installed XP Pro driver. I tested it with a
print Test Page.

On the new Vista machine: I added a New Printer / Network / and pointed to
the older machine's new Vista Driver (calling it Canon Vista). I ran a test
page by pointing to properties.

Now Windows Mail and Adobe print great.
