Windows mail shut down

My windows mail shots down and restart several times a day. I tried to
upgrade to windows live mail, but got the same problem there.
I have used the same antivirus softwere for nearly two years, but the
problem with windows mail just started about 6 weeks ago.
Can somebody help me?

Martha, I had the same problem, which was caused by a corrupted
Norton Internet Security update. Something caused a problem which
was causing both Windows Mail, and Windows Live Mail to
shut down especially when opening an attachment or trying to save
an attachment. So, if you are running Norton, try uninstalling and
reinstalling it and hopefully that will fix your problem too.

I`m using F-SECURE antivirus software, and it has not been a problem.

Which antivirus? Some of them are not very compatible.

F-Secure antivirus software. It has worked ok until now..

I am not aware of any negative reports about F-Secure antivirus.
But I don't see any options other than a trial uninstall of the antivirus,
or else trying a non-MS email program like Thunderbird:

I tried to uninstall my antivirus softwere, and install it again. It worked...
Now my windows mail is working ok.

You're very welcome. Thanks for reporting back.
Make sure your antivirus has its email scanning disabled, or else
you are quite likely to have future problems with Windows Mail:
