I am trying to create a Windows Mail account. I have always used Hotmail and
when I try to email someone directly (from craigslist, for example) it pops
up that I have to download Windows Mail and then I go through all the info
and then it says that a msn.com address won't work with Windows Mail? I am so
confused and frustrated. Can someone help? Thank you very much

You can't download Windows Mail, so I don't know what that means.

Windows Mail can't handle MSN mail unless you have a rare POP3 account. I
suggest (free) Windows Live Mail:

Windows Live Mail is more likely to work with Hotmail and msn.com, so you
may
want to download and install it:

Windows Mail cannot access Hotmail accounts.
You will need to download and install the newer Windows Live Mail, which
can.
