Windows Mail problems

I have Vista Home Premium, and unfortunately I am stuck using Windows Mail
for my default mail server, which is Earthlink. I tried to set up my
Earthlink account on Windows Mail. I typed all the correct information,
incoming mail, outgoing mail, etc. When I log in I get incoming mail okay, but
when I compose a email, and send it, it won't send out. It keeps telling me
that my remote server is incorrect. I have Comcast Broadband, and when I try
to set up the connection, it tries to dial Comcast. But I don't have dial
up, so it keeps dialing. I don't understand what is up on using this Windows
Mail. I cannot use Total Access Email on Vista, because Earthlink tells me
they don't have the software for Total Access Email for Vista yet. I have
almost given up on this.

you should have a coma\cast email account.

call comcast customer service to get help on setting up your email account.

You can't send thru EarthLink, while you are on the Comcast network. Are
you getting a "550 relay not permitted" error?

You should be able to prevent the Comcast account from trying to use dial
up.
Tools - Accounts - your Comcast account - Properties - Connection

I think I found the solution to the problem. After calling Earthlink again,
someone help me re-type my earthlink account information. Instead of typing
my username, I typed in my Earthlink email. And I changed my outgoing mail
server to 587. That did the trick, Thanks

I believe you're paying for two accounts. I know that both don't provide an
email account for nothing. If you have comcast broadband you should check out
comcast.net call comcast and they will provide you with sign in info and
email address that works with either Outlook or Live mail
