Windows Mail not locating MS Word Attachments

I have Vista and Office 2000 on my new laptop. When I attach a Word document
to an email and then try to send it Windows Mail tells me it cannot locate
the Word document and can only send the email without the attachment.

How do I fix this?
 
No, should that make any difference? It hasn't in the past on my old XP &
Office 2000 set up.
