Windows Mail keeps shutting down

When I open Windows mail I am able to read messages but after about 45
seconds I get a message that Windows has encountered a problem and has to
restart. Very annoying when right in the middle of typing out an email. My
program was working fine for a few months and all of a sudden this happens
and continues. Virus maybe??? Anybody else experience this.

We see problems in Windows caused by antivirus software more often than
we see such problems caused by a virus, although the problems caused by
antivirus software often take months to appear.

What if any antivirus software do you have?
 
I haven't heard of that one causing problems in Windows Mail.
However, you might check if it gives you the option to disable
email scanning, and if so, it may help to leave it disabled.
