Windows Mail integration with vista

How does it integrate? I'm really looking for any of these:
1.. tray icon that changes when new mail is recieved
2.. sidebar gadget to list all new mail
3.. auto-start without showing the main window (so I can run it on boot like msn messenger)
4.. notification of new emails via popup box like outlook
5.. "hide" option so windows mail can stay running checking my email without using up precious taskbar space.

It puts an icon in the Notirication Area when it receives new mail.

2.. sidebar gadget to list all new mail
3.. auto-start without showing the main window (so I can run it on boot

Doesn't have this ability.

5.. "hide" option so windows mail can stay running checking my email
without using up precious taskbar space.

Find a third-party program.
