I have recently changed my PC and have Vista OS installed. My problem is that
when I try to read existing PST files created under XP and Outlook I get the
following error "Messages cannot be imported from the MAPI client, An error
has occurred"

Has anyone had this problem and what is the solution?

Thanks

LucianoO,
You cannot import data from free standing *.PST files, into Vista Mail, Win Live
Mail, or OE.

1. You need a copy of MS Outlook installed on the Vista Machine, and set up a
Mail Profile in Outlook.
2. You will need to associate or open the *.PST files with a Mail Profile that
you set up in MS Outlook. Do Not use the Import function in Outlook, to move the
data from the backup *.PST files, into Outlook.
3. Then Proceed with the Import function in Vista Mail, from that Mail Profile
in MS Outlook.
