Ever since downloading a fix to a message stuck in my Outbox I have been
having problems with Windows Mail.
On opening or saving attachments from emails the first one opens/saves ok
but the second one comes up with message "Windows mail has stopped working"
"Restart or close the program"
I have download Windows Live Mail as suggested in previous posts but this
has not helped either.
HELP!!

Hi Gary
Thank you.
I tried updating Norton but the problem still persisted.
I then deleted Norton and problem gone!!
I have now reinstalled Norton and so far so good, if the problem comes back
should I throw Norton in the bin?
Which anti virus would you recommend that is compatible with Windows Mail?

If the problem comes back, uninstall Norton and use the removal tool also.
Of the free antivirus programs, the ones that are compatible
with Windows Mail are:

AVG free edition:
http://free.grisoft.com/doc/5390/us/frt/0?prd=aff
or
Avast free edition:
http://www.avast.com/eng/download-avast-home.html

However, with either of those, during the install phase you must select
'custom' install, and then deselect the email scanning module so it won't install.

Instead of switching to a different antivirus, another option is to upgrade
to Windows Live Mail (WLM), which is more resistant to the adverse effects
of aggressive antivirus products: http://get.live.com/wlmail/overview

Even with WLM, you must disable email scanning in the antivirus.
