windows mail contacts gone

I have 2 identities.
Identiy 1 works fine.
Identity 2 worked fine until the contacts disappeared.
If you look at the folder, it is empty.
If you look at the properties of the folder it has over 100 files (probably
my contacts).
The folder is at C:\users\identity1 \contacts.
If I go to "my computer"-then users-- identitiy 1 isn't there.
Any ideas?

How are you switching between "identities"?
Windows Mail does not support identities.
