Windows Mail Closes when previewing message

I have a message in the inbox that closes Windows Mail if I preview, open or
attempt to delete. Windows Mail then reopens. I cannot get it deleted?

View | Layout
Uncheck the Preview Pane. Then you should be able to delete the message.
