Windows logon screen from screensaver

Since I got WinXP Pro, when resuming from the screensaver it always went
back to the Win logon screen. This option was shown as "On resume, display
Welcome screen" in the display settings under screensaver. Now the option
has changed to "On resume, password protect". The result when resuming from
screensaver is now a window with user name and password fields and the
screensaver frozen behind it. It allows me to logon using my password, but
only to the account that was last signed in. It's been this way for a
while - after I did a Windows update I think, not sure which one. How do I
revert to the other way of going to the logon screen?

Sorry, forgot this. Don't know if it changes anything.

First off, I'm taking for granted that there are other user
accounts on this computer other than your own. If that's the
case, the behavior you're seeing may be due to the fact that
Fast User Switching has been disabled.

You might want to try the following:
Go to Start -> Control Panel and double click on User Accounts.
Click on "Change the way users log on or off".
Make sure you have a check mark in the box next to both "Use
Welcome Screen" and "Use Fast User Switching".
Hit the "Apply Options" button.

Set your screensaver to a minute to test this.

Good luck

I should have seen this one coming! Is this the story I can
expect to see in The Times-Picayune sometime soon:

"Disgruntled Saints fans throw their support behind the sons of
former Saints QB Archie Manning. As more fans of the displaced
New Orleans Saints come to the realization that this football
season may be lost they're redirecting their allegiance to
Lousiana natives Peyton and Eli Manning".

Say it ain't so, Kelly!!!

I'm sorry, but I think even Janet Jackson would find a
Colts/Giants Super Bowl offensive!

Seriously, the Giants are in what may be the toughest division
in football. They would probably have to win three road playoff
games to get to the Super Bowl. Not an easy route. As for the
Colts, their road to SBXL is about to get a lot more difficult,
starting with their appearance in Foxboro, MA on Monday,
November 7th. Even if they have home field advantage throughout
the playoffs, odds are they'd have to defeat two very good
teams to get to the Super Bowl.
