Anyone know how to disable Windows XP Professional from asking a user what the log in password is? I know you can do it with Tweak UI, but is there another way?
Start, Run and enter CONTROL USERPASSWORDS2 In the users list, select the account you want automatically logged on. Then uncheck the box Users must enter a username and password......... Click Apply. In the next dialog, enter the password for the account you selected, if any. This method makes the same registry changes that TweakUI does.

1. Control Panel>Manager Users>Change the way a user logs on and
off>Choose Welcome Screen.. Then once this is done change the password
to Blank... Now when you reboot all u need to do is click on your name
to logon.. No password..
Kevin,
The OP wants the system to Logon automatically, they don't even won't to
"Click" on their name. In other words, XP boots straight into their Desktop
without any intervention. Your method only allows the user to click and not
enter a password - an intervention the user must respond to.
