I am currently using Windows xp Porefessional edition on a Dell Latitude laptop
one of my accounts got deleted and the only ones left now are the
Administrator account (which i do not know the password for) and a Guest
account (which has been disabled)

when i first turn on the computer, it asks my to press ctrl+alt+delete to
log on (this is just so that you know what my computer looks like when it
first turns on)
i cannot log on at all
i would greatly appreciate it if anyone could help

Unless you (or someone with access to your computer) created a password,
the computer's own Administrator account has no password. Use it to
create a user account for yourself.

Did you (or someone with access to your computer) delete that account?
If not, you should strongly suspect a virus or other malware.

If you have lost all user-account passwords to the machine, then there are
third-party toold to recover them, but hey are costly and not always
effective. A better option is to do a Repair Install, which should ask for a
new Adminstrator password. If this is done correcly you shouldn't lose any
data or settings.

Hint: Most Dells have an i386 folder on the C#: drive, running winnt.exe
from a bootdisk should start the setup. DON'T use a manufacturer's recovery
disk if you can avoid it, as that will likely nuke all of your files.
