windows lockups frequently

I have windows xp home edition and it keeps locking up on me, or it will
will run really slow and I have to shut it off manually. I have zerospyware
and stopzilla popup blocker installed. I cleaned out my temporary internet
files and deleted all cookies, and it still sometimes runs slow or locksup
and I have to shut it off. Any info would help, thank you.

It is not enough to only run ONE anti-spyware program. I run 3 to 4, since
there does not "seem" to have one that remove all spywares.

Try runnung disk clean-up utility,then defrag,after go to run,type:cmd
In cmd type:CHKDSK C: /F Agree to restart,then type:EXIT Restart computer

This could be caused by either hardware or software problems. There
isn't enough information in your post to tell which is the culprit. You
didn't mention an antivirus, but I assume you have a current version
(not earlier than 2004) using updated definitions. Here are some links
